Recalc of stock

Postby nigel.cox » Thu Jun 07, 2007 11:00 am

Is anyone else have problems with stock in Sage Line 500. We are having to use the recalc stock at least once a week.

It is causing problems as we may find that it needs recalculating over a weekend when we are doing our weekly stock take but cannot correct the stock until Monday morning as our reseller isn't available for the password. :(

Has anyone got a list of the passwords or another way to do the stock recalc via the backdoor? or even better the ability to remove the password prompt and let us control the recalc using the menu option password.

We have this problem too. I have to ask my reseller for a password quite frequently.

Hi guy's,

I know that it is Sage's policy not to give out the passwords freely as the need to recalculate stock should be identified and logged with sage for analysis.

If you think you will require stock recalcs over a weekend though I am sure your reseller will let you have the passwords in advance if you ask for them.

Remember if you require weekend passwords these will be different for both Saturday and Sunday.

We had an instance whereby our reseller was going to set up a SQL routine which ran itself 'out of hours' (At a pre-determined time) to recalc stock.

Whether they supply a table of passwords or they can add an algorithm for calculating them I do not know.
But I am certian they had done it for another customer.

There are hundreds of reasons why the stock can go out.
Is this physical stock or is it allocated stock.

Does your network have any issues like the client losing connection?

database locks can cause issues if you have ODBC reports!
