Hi itGirl

I have found some info, if this is the type of thing you are after I will post some more.

Special Report Definition
This form enables you to:
Create a report definition
Add columns to a report definition
You can also delete the definition of a report that is no longer used, or print the definition of an individual special report.

Special Reports
Hierarchies

To create a special report definition:

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

1 Type in a new Report number and select CR-Accept.

> Alternatively, you can type in, or use F2-Browse to select, an existing Report number and select F8-Reproduce to copy it to a New report no.

2 Type in a suitable Name for the report. This name is printed on the top heading line of every report page.

3 To define how the report will look, complete the following fields:
Show in thousands? Type Y, to display figures in thousand.

Column gap. Type the size of the gap between columns, or leave as default.

Justify headers? Accept the default of Y to justify column headers.

Round to detail? Type N to add the figures before rounding the column totals. Accept the default of Y to round figures before adding them to the column totals.

Figures column width. Type in the default value for figure column widths, or leave as the default. You can now type in the default number of Dec places (decimal places) for figure columns, or leave the default setting.

Show zeros? Type N to not show zero figures. Accept the default of Y for zero values to be printed.

Percent column width. Type in the default value for percentage column widths, or leave as the default. You can now type in the default number of Dec places (decimal places) for percentage columns, or leave the default setting

Th. Type in your selected thousands separator, or accept the default. You can use:

',' to use a comma, e.g. 10,000
'.' to use a full stop, e.g. 10.000
B to use a blank character, e.g. 10 000
Leave blank to use nothing, e.g. 10000
Dec. Type in your selected decimal separator, or accept the default. You can use:

',' to use a comma, e.g. 1500,50
'.' to use a full stop, e.g. 1500.50
Leave blank to use your system default.
Min. Type in your selected method of indicating negative figures, or accept the default. You can use:

L to display the minus sign to the left of the value, e.g. –4500.00.
R to display the minus sign to the right of the value, e.g. 4500.00–.
B to display negative values with brackets, e.g. (4500.00).
Leave blank to default to B for brackets.

4 Type in, or use F2-Browse to select, a Hierarchy. Only one hierarchy structure can be accessed in any one report.

To add columns to a report definition:

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

1 Type in the Type for each column. You can use:

ACNO to display account code, or hierarchy level, numbers
ACNM to display account code, or hierarchy level, descriptions.
THIS to display this year's figures for the defined period or range of periods.
PREV to display last year's figures for the defined period or range of periods.
NEXT to display next year's figures for the defined period or range of periods.
BUDG to display budget figures for the budget in the BUDG column, for the defined period or range of periods
ADD to display the result when two columns are added together. The column numbers to be added together must be entered in the 'start' and 'end' fields.
SUB to display the result when one column is subtracted from another. The 'end' column will be subtracted from the 'start' column.

MULT to display the result of multiplying two columns. The column numbers to be multiplied together must be entered in the 'start' and 'end' fields.
DIV to display the result of dividing one column with another. The 'end' column will be divided into the 'start' column.
PERC to display the 'start' column as a percentage of the 'end' column. For example, if the `Start' column displays 150.00 and the `End' column displays 250.00 the percentage column will display 60.00.
B% to display percentages of the base line. The column number is defined in the `Start' field and the base line is defined when the detail lines are set up.
OFFT to display the offset totals of other columns. You will then have to define in the detail lines set up, which line(s) the offset total(s) are to appear on in this column.
GAP to display gaps between other columns in the report.

2 Type in the budget for any columns of Type BUDG in field Bud.

3 Type R in field C to display the figures in reporting currency.
Leave this field blank for columns to display figures in base currency.

4 Type in appropriate Start and End fields for the column's Type.

ACNO, ACNM Leave the fields Start and End blank.
THIS, NEXT, PREV, BUDG The Start and End periods denote the range of periods, within the year, to be added together. Absolute or relative period numbers can be inter-mixed. Enter one of the following:

Absolute period numbers 01–18, A for the adjustment period, or O for the opening balance period
Relative Periods: P represents the default, current period; P–n represents previous periods e.g. P-1 represents the period before the current period; P+n represents future periods.

ADD The Start column will be added to the End column.
SUB The End column will be subtracted to the Start column.
MULT The Start column will be multiplied by the End column.
DIV The Start column will be divided to the End column.
PERC The Start column will be displayed as a percentage of the End column.
B% The field Start holds the base line from which the percentages will be calculated. The field End is left blank.
OFFT The field Start holds the column number that the offset total is to refer. The field End is left blank.

5 Type in the width of the column in field Wd, if it is different to the default.

6 Type in the number of decimal places for the column in field Dp, if it is different to the default.

7 To suppress the printing of a column type Y in field S, i.e. it is to be used for calculation purposes only.

Leave this field blank to print the column.

8 Type in the negative figure display method for the column in field M, if it is different to the default.

9 Type in up to two lines of text to identify the columns in fields Heading 1 and Heading 2.

The number of characters that can be displayed may be limited by the column's width.

10 Select CR-Accept when all the columns have been defined and select CR-Accept again to enter special report detail lines.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

TIP A maximum of 30 columns can be added to each report. In practice, however, the maximum number of characters that your printer can print on each line may restrict the number of columns.

You can also use a column Type of CURR if your system is set up to use the Euro. This allows values printed in the previous column to be converted and printed in a different currency. Either the base currency value or the reporting currency value can be converted to an alternate currency. The alternate currency code is entered in the field Bud, and the number of the previous column must be entered in the field Start.
If the column before a CURR type column is one of the column types THIS, NEXT or PREV, position the cursor on the CURR column and select F4-Currency to enter extra currency details.
