Hi Sarah,

You need to check out

http://www.codis.co.uk/features.asp#modules

They have stock excelerator which will allow you to do this through excel.
You can download it and ring them for a 30 day trial.

Regards

Hi Sarah

Ask your IT company if they are any good with sql scripts
you can create the import script using excel then run it in query analyser.

You can also use VBA to create an import spreadsheet

if you need any help let me know

Thankyou both for your answers.
This is mainly going to be a one off hit and I can't see the accountant agreeing to pay the cost for Codis!

Ed do you have any examples you can send me of either vba or how to create the excel/ Query analyzer script?

Thanks for all your help

What version of sage?
MS Aaccess can be used to do your import.
You just need to be wary of Null values - Adding a space in Excel before importing into Access usually cures the problem.

You can create your data in Excel.
Import it into Access then do an 'append query' to add it to your stock tables.

You could even use live links through out. If you change something in Excel then open access and run an update query you can change stock data

You stated a 'one-off.'
Amending records vis MS Access has almost become a 'second nature' we do it that much.

If you can get to SQL enterprise manager then it is even better.
Just import from Excel into the stock table.
Any errors will be highlighted stating which row and what the problem is - Access isn't so 'savvy.'
