Is it possible to set up deatils of intrastat details in Excel and then import to Sage 1000 stock record. I need to see a stock record screen but can't find anything on net, any suggestions? My reason for asking is that I have a problem with only partial information ut into stock screens and over 5000 stock items which need completion. The time scale for entry in each screen would be too much.
Many thanks for your time

The Short answer is yes.
Have a chat with your business partner as they may have an import script or do the import for you. They can advise the layout of the excel sheet.

If you get no luck post back and I will help further.

Hi there,

Just as a quick alternative, you could try codis stock excelerator. From excel you can upload details directly into Sage 1000. There is a 30 day trial on their website. Comes in at £600 per seat including first year support. http://www.codis.co.uk/excelerator.asp
Also this product is supported by the majority of business partners as well instead of possibly getting a partner specific solution!

Assuming Sage 1000 is still built around SQL..
Why not link to the stockm table via MS Access and update it from there?

You can firstly export the table to excel (selecting the fields you require) - add the necessary data - then import it back into access and do an update query.

I have never been shown how to use tetralink so I use either MS Access or DTS via the SQL enterprise manager.
(Most companies are now on SQL 2005/2008 so I am not familiar with SSIS.)

If you are not trained in using access to sql or understand the sql update function then I wouldn't recommend this.

As you are directly changing the sql tables you are then totally unsupported by sage and your reseller.

Using the codis apps like steve has suggested is the correct way as you are totally supported.
