Hi Julian

Batches get cleared down when there are no sales orders, purchase orders or works orders on the system using that batch, so archive your items and run the batch cleardown routines.

I have seen people clear them down via sequel if you do a dekit, credit note or supplier return you may get stuck as there is no batch to selectso if you do this cleardown the really old batches only.

Hi Baggers

Thanks for your advise

When you say if i use a sql script to clear down the batch what table or tables do I use? I know of stquem!

If I clear down a batch which I later need for a credit note can a new batch be created? I'm not worried about traceability at that stage.

Thanks

Make sure you are not using pallet information as there is an extension table to clear down if this project is turned on.

And yes it is ok to clear this and re-create a new batch for a credit receipt.

Hi Julian

In inventory control on your housekeeping menu, there is a batch cleardown routine which will do what you require. You may need to run this in conjunction with the stock history cleardown also in order to remove the memo transaction files that are used for batch traceability also.

Hi steve,

I would like to clear only the batches without clearing the stock history. Is there a way to do it.

The only way I know how to remove old batches is to create a sql script against the stquem table, where quantity is 0.
One problem is you will lose traceability.
If you need traceability then the only way to do this is to use the clear batches in the housekeeping area,
