Sage 200 import option

Postby nacho66 » Mon Aug 10, 2009 9:27 am

Hi guys

I'm a web developer and we got into contact with a client that requires a feature to import customer and orders data from the web site to Sage once a week. I know that Sage 200 accepts CSV files as import source so the idea would be to export web site data to CSV and then import this CSV to Sage.
However, I don't access to Sage application so that's only theory. Can anyone of you confirm that such operation would be possible on basic version of Sage 200 (no add-ons). Is there anything about CSV import that could prevent this idea?

Also... if all above is possible... any chance you could provide an example of CSV column layout for customer/orders import?

Thanks a lot for your help

Are you importing directly into the Sales ledger?
In theory I can't see you having any issues as you will have to create two csv files. One for the creation of the customer and the other to add the transactional data.

If you ask the customer he should be able to provide csv templates and all the necessary information, as this is shipped with the product.
